Gulf Coast Hurricane Relief Toolkit
HandsOn Network Partners
HandsOn Bay Area (HOBA) is part of the HandsOn Network, an international alliance of innovative volunteer management organizations. HOBA has partnered with our sister organizations, Hands On Gulf Coast and Hands On New Orleans in rebuilding efforts. Both organizations can host individuals, groups, or companies for service retreats.
Hands On Gulf Coast (HOGC) is located in Biloxi, Mississippi, what was a small artist community and tourist attraction. The Biloxi/Gulfport area was devastated by Hurricane Katrina, with whole neighborhoods literally wiped into the ocean. The rebuilding efforts are extensive. HOGC hosted HOBA Community volunteers in August 2006 and HOBA and Kaiser Permanente volunteers in January/ February 2007. For the latest information on volunteering with Hands On Gulf Coast check out their website. For more information or to make a reservation, contact info@handsongulfcoast.org, or call (228) 257-6094.
Hands On New Orleans (HONO) is located in the heart of New Orleans. The breach of the levees in New Orleans were highly publicized, and it will take quite some time for New Orleans to recover from this disaster. HONO hosted HOBA’s community volunteers for a day of volunteering in the city in August 2006, and HOBA and Kaiser Permanente volunteers for a few days as part of their service retreat January/February 2007. For the latest information on volunteering with HONO check out their website. For more information or to make a reservation, contact volunteer@handsonneworleans.org, or call (504) 895-4238.
