Hands On Bay Area and ITVS Community Cinema Partnership
Every month, Hands On Bay Area partners with ITVS to host a film screening and panel discussion. The Oakland Museum of California and the San Francisco Public Library hosts these free community events. Come join us for the monthly film screening and panel discussion!
What is Community Cinema?
The Independent Television Service (ITVS) Community Cinema brings to local, national and international audiences high-quality, content-rich programs created by a diverse body of independent producers. ITVS programs take creative risks, explore complex issues, and express points of view seldom seen on commercial or public television. ITVS programming reflects voices and visions of underrepresented communities and addresses the needs of underserved audiences, particularly minorities and children. Click here for more info about ITVS Community Cinema.
What are my responsibilities if I decide to sign up for the community film screening?
Come, sit in the audience, enjoy the documentary film, and participate afterwards by listening and/or asking questions in a thought-provoking panel discussion. You will not me volunteering but learning about community issues. If you have more questions, please contact Dana Blecher at dana@hoba.org.
