For Groups
If this is the first time your group has volunteered with HOBA or you are planning a one-time volunteer event, follow the instructions below.
Getting Started:
- Before attending any of our service projects, all of our volunteers must first register as a HOBA volunteer by creating an online account.
- You will need the email addresses of everyone you want to participate in the project
- Your active account will allow you to sign up for any open opportunity on our Project Calendar. The green dot beside a project name indicates an opening. We have over 120 projects to choose from. You can search or filter these projects by "project attributes", "impact area" and/or "county."
- If there is room for your group, click “Sign me Up” to register yourself.
- In order to invite the rest of your group, click the button, “Invite a Friend,” on the confirmation page and follow the instructions.
Tips to remember:
- Inviting your friends does not register them for the project or reserve spaces for them.
- Remind everyone in your group that in order to participate in the project, they must create a HOBA account and sign up for project in advance. Unfortunately, we cannot allow “walk-ins” to participate.
- Projects can fill up quickly, so you may want to follow-up with people on the phone to encourage them to register as soon as possible.
- Please also remind people that they should remove themselves if they can’t attend. This allows someone else to sign up for their spot – and your project will have a bigger impact in the community.
